Greenpeace is a name almost everyone has heard at least once. Founded in Canada in 1971, the non-governmental organisation stands on the front line for our planet and works to protect the Earth and every living creature on it.
It is known for campaigns against nuclear power, deforestation, pollution and global warming, and against overfishing and commercial whaling. It also campaigns against genetically modified organisms and works to promote peace.
Keep nature as pristine as possible, and end everything that harms living beings.
Greenpeace works in more than 55 countries and has its seat in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. To stay independent, it takes no money from governments, companies or political parties: its work is paid for by its supporters.
The funds it raises each year go where the need is most urgent, from protecting endangered species to fighting climate change. Supporting Greenpeace is an investment in the future of the whole planet.
